Nestled against Southwestern British Columbia`s magnificent mountains and the sandy beaches of Harrison Lake , the picturesque lakefront village of Harrison Hot Springs is located in the southwestern part of the Canadian province of British Columbia.
It is named after Benjamin Harrison and the fact that it is known for its hot springs. Harrison Hot Springs is one of British Columbia’s prime resort towns and is filled with rich history, natural wonders, incredible economic opportunities, and entrepreneurial spirit.
Designated a Resort Municipality by the Province of BC, Harrison Hot Springs is a tourism hotspot for Metro Vancouver and Fraser Valley residents looking for a getaway and international visitors alike.
Every year Harrison Hot Springs welcomes thousands of visitors. The Village of Harrison Hot Springs is experiencing growth and is making key investments in improving municipal infrastructure and services to enhance the quality of life and encourage development. As a world famous tourist destination, the village has year-round visitors exploring Village life and taking advantage of the hot springs, boating, swimming, golfing, hiking, cycling, fishing, festivals, events, various organized tours, and an amazing array of other leisure activities. The municipality is committed towards strengthening and diversifying the economic base, focusing on the tourism industry.
Another attraction beside the Hot Springs, Mountains and Lakes of the area is the internationally recognized Harrison Festival of the Arts, this takes place every summer. Also lots of the residents work in nearby Chilliwack, Abbotsford & Mission. Most of the permanent residents live in single family detached homes. A two bedroom, two bathroom home runs in the $300,000 range and if you want a lake front property it only goes up from there. The homes range from one or two story homes to 7 story condominiums.
There are two hot springs in the Village of Harrison Hot Springs, called Potash and Sulphur respectively. Potash is a comfortable 40 degrees Celsius or 104 degrees Fahrenheit and Sulphur is a toasty 65 degrees Celsius or 149 degrees Fahrenheit! The hot springs are an offshoot of Harrison Lake that traverses the countryside up to the mountains and covers 48 miles. Other outings that are offered in Harrison Hot Springs are boating, hiking, fishing and golf. There are four golf courses within a 15 minute drive! Harrison Hot Springs is located about one and a half hours from Vancouver, British Columbia and a mere three hours from Seattle making it a great place to stay and enjoy or take a day trip to another tourist destination.
Harrison Hot Springs is a gorgeous village that is surrounded by beautiful landscapes with the lake and mountains to its north, golf courses within a stone’s throw and, of course, the warm, bubbly hot springs that it is named for.
